*EDITED*
Dear God, my grammar... seriously.
First and foremost; Class begun. And almost instantly we were handed our first assignment, aptly named: Sketch Like Your Life Depends on It. And as much as I hate to admit it; it actually does. After succeeding getting onto the Dean's List, I am more determined than ever to stay on it because I was told that if I manage to do so, I might be able to get my hands on a scholarship.
And I really want it. I still feel guilty over having to have my father pay for my education, when he could've paid for basically... nothing.
So basically for our first assignment, we have to sketch a number of things, complete with rendering, which is most definitely not my forte. I've always loved sketching, but mine is more for leisure and leans more towards doodling than proper ones you see artists doing.
Last week I also headed for KLCC, because I felt a sudden need to visit Kinokuniya and get my hands on some architecture books (another bookstore I visit for the same thing is Borders, preferably the one in The Gardens) and to simply... smell new books. And oh yeah, also to grab a few Moleskines - probably the best notebook to own.
I spent about an hour in Kinokuniya, just walking around, grabbing books, then staring at them, thinking whether it was absolutely necessary for me to buy them all at once. In the end, I ended up with these;
They total up to almost 400 MYR. *cries* Maybe my friends are right, I have pretty expensive taste. Not really a good thing at this point.
Other than that I also managed to get myself a pair of sunglasses and a studded belt from Zara. Didn't look around properly when I entered Topshop coz I know if I did, I would always convince myself that 200 MYR + is a reasonable price for a sheer / chiffon top.
Its not, by the way.
On Saturday morning, my family and I went to see how our future home's progressing. Its slowly becoming a weekend morning habit now. We're all very excited.
They're starting on the second floor as well! Woohoo! Another two levels, and its up! InsyaAllah...
Afterwards along with my other three sisters, I went to Sunway Pyramid coz my older sister Lisa wanted to get a new camera. Coz apparently (according to HER) her Canon G11 is too heavy and bulky to bring along everywhere.
And so she settled for a Lumix DMC-GF3, which is yes, noticeably lighter but.... has an interchangeable lens which makes it even more bulky and space-consuming than her G11.
My sister's not very smart, is she? LOL, kidding! (Maybe not, though...)
Later that night, it was time to bid goodbye to my sister... AGAIN. Because the thing is, she already went back to Manchester, even before Raya coz she had an exam to resit.
But on my mother's birthday, which was on the fifth, she came home (secretly) as a present for my Mum. Pfft. Seriously now, how conceited does one have to be to actually consider herself an acceptable birthday gift?
Unfortunately enough for her, I spoiled her surprise homecoming by being not yet asleep. So yes, I helped prep her on her mission to scare all our siblings.
Mmmm pretty sure no one's going to be offering me face painting jobs anytime soon.
On Sunday (yesterday) my friends and I attended our high school senior's wedding (the bride):
She is ridiculously beautiful. It scares me how poised and gorgeous a bride is supposed to look like, and looking at my inability to be all 'ayu'... I'd make for a very tak senonoh bride. TSK TSK.
Straight away after that, we followed Kak Ayin (second from left) to her home just as a Raya visit. And coz we'd feel that our efforts to look nice only to eat and take pictures with the bride and groom would be wasted if we didn't do / go anywhere afterwards.
Well, I guess this is applicable to Eja and Zue. A for me, I only slipped on a baju kurung, added on accessories and went out the house. My makeup being only a pat of powder on my face coz I just cannot be bothered to put on anything else if I don't feel like it.
Beautiful home Kak Ayin!
The next house we headed for was Lokman's (the guy in spectacles), where we shamelessly attempted to finish his stock of kerepek and duku. We followed through by heading to MidValley because I had a 30 MYR rebate from Fashion Fast Forward, and it'd be an obvious waste to not use it.
So I managed to buy myself yet another maxi dress, this time from Dorothy Perkins because there was (strangely enough) nothing I like, at least anything thats less than 200 MYR from Topshop. Stttraaangee, but fortunate!
And just because we always find reason good enough to eat, the next place we headed to to eat later was Delicious. Where we proceeded on taking pointless pictures from every angle of the table.
Have no idea why I smiled like that. CUH-REE-PAY.
Nussow's Wild Mushroom soup with Garlic Butter Bread.
Zue's Lasagna + Fries.
My 'dessert', an Eggplant and Tomato Spagghetini.
The story behind this being a dessert is because I initially was craving for desserts; a piece of cake, a matcha tiramisu perhaps... but no. My obsession with eggplants suddenly took over me and I ordered this right away.
Eja's Meatballs in Tomato Sauce and Cheese.
Honestly, I'm still experiencing a bad case of stomachache ever since last night. Apparently, every one of us who attended the wedding felt the same. We are of course assuming that it might be food poisoning, or a case of food gone bad.
Whatever it is, I'm staying away from any food served at future weddings. Plus I should've went ahead with my plan on not eating there that day because I had a rather productive morning, exercising and spending an hour inside the sauna. And I wasted all that calorie burning on eating something rotten.
:-(
Now I'm here, clutching my stomach, and holding something hot against it. And skipping class. A rather important one.
*sigh*
And.... that is all. The only thing making me feel good right now is what a friend told me just this afternoon. :-)
