Knowledge Through Exploration.

Okay, I've officially put my HTC Hero to rest now. Though I still bring it with me sometimes, coz despite complaining about it causing problems, I still do love it. And to simply throw it on the side without a care in the world makes me feel guilty.

Coz I bought the phone for its name. Which is the name of my now deceased cat; Hero. I loved him very dearly. I miss you sayang. :'-((

So now I'm using a Blackberry.

My sister's to be exact. Oh wait, to be even MORE exact; My TWELVE year old sister. Coz yeah, apparently nowadays every kid deserves a Blackberry / iPhone / iPad / iPod and a Canon G12 / any other hefty priced DSLRs.

LOL okay I sound bitter. :-P

I actually planned on asking my parents to get me the new Sidekick 4G whilst they're in the UK. But figured that I'd have to go through a lot of problems before I could properly put it to good use. Coz the phone is manufactured specially for T-Mobile, and bringing it into Malaysia to use would be pretty difficult. Not knowing whether it would be able to even function, even.

Plus, I'm always up for recycled items. Saves money. So now I can just focus on saving up for my own iMac just in time for next year (once our new house is done, insyaAllah) and a LUMIX DMC-G3 which  I predict will reach Malaysian shores by the end of June.

Which reminds me, I bought myself an Oktomat today.

WHAT THE FISSSHHH IS ZATTTT?

Well, its a lomography camera that takes a total of eight frames in one shot. Not exactly the best lomo cam to own for a beginner because usually people start with the ActionSampler, but I'm tamak okay I want EIGHT frames. Kalau tamak sikit lagi I would've gotten a Pop9. =____=

IDK whether I've been using it correctly... coz I have to wait till the whole film is out, and get it developed first.

I also bought a set of KOLA colour filters to come with;

I think somewhere along the way since I started going to Taylor's, I'm suddenly in love with snapping at anything and/or everything. And without noticing it, my friends are telling me that I'm constantly taking photos. Although a bit unrelated, one of them did crown me Queen of Ridiculous Photos, coz he said I'm always putting up the ugliest / silliest photos of myself up on Facebook. =___=

In spite of the fact that they are, particularly bad photos, especially in the eyes of people who understand photography (la konon) AKA my friend Paca (Yesss KAU) who almost too unabashedly told me that I'm a bad photographer, I think I much prefer it to be that way.

Over-thinking the results of my finger trippy-ness can be a bit stressful. OF COURSE I'd love for my photos to be amazing at times, but I'm more inclined to take random photos that are not subjected to time and place.

So basically, what I'm trying to say is that; I wanna get more involved in photography. I mean, not seriously. But as yet another hobby. Ayah is always telling me to get involved in as many things as I can, so I'd have no problems with making connections in the future.

Its not all business la. I mean, when you know more about all kinds of things, its easier for you to find common ground with a stranger. Especially when you're stuck in one of those awkward situations where everyone is suddenly very interested in their toes.

My advice: Explore new things! You learn more that way! I may not have understood why my parents used to always push us into taking tennis and horse riding lessons, and well, anything really. But now it makes sense!

Yet more reasons to love my parents, each and every day, really. :-)

I'm always happy to say that I own a scuba diving license, I'm a pretty good go-kart racer (no one I know are able to beat me... yet), I taught myself how to play the guitar and piano (albeit not being very good at it), I can control a horse, and I AM on my way to be able to play golf on the field!

That being said, I can't wait to master the things I know the basics of and to continue exploring new things!

Lastly, something that has been keeping me up almost every night now:

OMG I'm not even any good in Google Sketch Up! What happens when I'm introduced to AutoCAD and Photoshop! =____=

Andddd lastly, lastly. LOL. CONGRATULATIONS TO FC BARCELONAAAA! ^^ I actually managed to watch that match coz usually when I plan to catch a game, I'd usually sleep or forget or... heck. IDK.

Movie-Going Month.

After watching 'Tangled' in London with my sister and friend, I went on like, probably the longest movie hiatus (since high school) ever. At one point my sister and I DID plan to watch Beastly. But my guess is that the movie was showing in cinemas for a (friggin') short while, coz a day or two after we planned on watching it, it was no longer showing.

There was no hype when it WAS showing, even.

WTF. And I waited almost a year for that movie. Still hadn't watched it BTW. Though I do have this gut feeling that it's going to suck. WTV. Books will always, always trump over its movie adaptations.

So after about two months sans any new movie, most probably because I went on a Gilmore Girls marathon with my family. Jess Mariano... I love you still. And Rory; YOU IZ IDIOT. That is all.

Back to the point! After two months; the movie that broke the hiatus was...

Not a great movie to re-start a movie-going habit.

Okay. Actually, not a great movie... PERIOD.

Went to watch the movie with a rather peculiar group consisting of my sister Nadia, her friend Nida, and my cousin Syasya. Though we mixed in extremely well with each other, and thats what made it an awesome day.

YES. Even if I DID have to miss out on Switchfoot that night coz I went to Maroon 5's concert two days before without telling my parents. Errr. Not a smart move. Most indubitably. Heard it was an awesome crowd (Okay honestly now, any crowd when compared to Maroon 5's would be better), but I also found out that they played a lot of new songs, and only a few of their more evergreen ones, so even if I went, I wouldn't get to sing along to much.

But again, the day was awesome! So it made up for us missing out on Switchfoot.

We headed straight towards the ticket line upon reaching One Utama. After that all of us went down to Delicious to grab pavlova and experience probably the worse service EVER. Where they basically took about more than half an hour to deliver a DRINK to our table, and even rolled eyes at us summore.

WTF I will never understand why some of these service workers think they own the bloody places they work in.

And after that, we still had time before the movie. So about 20 minutes before the screening time, we went to eat summore. LOL okay we love food. And we are not ashamed to show it. Like. Literally show it. Through our chubby cheeks, flabby arms and thunder thighs.

*Sobs*

But okay to hell with thunder thighs, when you have THIS:

Fondue set from Haagen Dazs.

One of the BEST ice cream PLUS fruits PLUS melted chocolate. Oh hot damn. No wrong can come from said combination.

Which was why we managed to wolf everything down in about five minutes. LOL. The reason being we were already late for our movie (and they served this to us late) AND because... we are monsters. There is no other explanation for it.

My sister and Nida.
=____=

*burps*
*rubs belly*

AFTER the movie... We.... YES. Ate. But okay please forgive us lah, coz we only ate half a piece of pavlova each and ice cream okay. So tak kira. Went to the old wing to get ourselves some old school pizza from Pizza Hut. But almost the whole wing was being in the process of getting a face lift. So we decided on Italiennies (Heck, is this how it's spelled?)

Where we compared our driver's license photos...

... and fugly identification card photos.

Ate spaghetti and MONSTROUS meatballs...

... and a pizza that is not a margharita pizza. Ok sorry, I can't for the life of me, remember its name right now.

The acquaintances of that day:

Nida.

Syasya.

Sister Nadia.

Yours truly.

Its not our first time, but we are still AMAZE-BALLS.
Pardon the pun. Also, pardon the hair. LOOK AT IT.
=______=

My comment on the movie: Ummm. I guess the worse thing about it is how you know, like, from the very beginning (from the poster even) who was the PSYCHO. Other than that, the movie is your common psycho-thriller. You'd cringe when Leighton's character pulls out a girl's navel piercing single-handedly. You go 'AWWWW' when the camera first turns to focus on Cam Gigandet (made famous by Twilight). You go 'OK EWWW YOU ANIMAL' when the lecturer hits on his student.

I know its probably no longer showing, but if it is, then don't even bother spending your money on tickets for this movie. You're better off downloading it or... *coughs* obtain it from other sources. If y'know what I mean. *wriggles eyebrows*

All photos are courtesy of my sister's iPhone 4

Not long after the roommate, I went out with my homies Eja and Zue, to watchhhhh...

... and it was MIND-BLOWING. Sure, I honestly hoped that there were more drag races or any kind of races chucked in there. But that fact alone didn't dim the movie. It was still ferocious. MREOWWW :3

I think the funny thing was my friends and I were more worried for the car than anything else. Its like. Your life is in serious danger, a famous city is being teared apart and we were going:

"OH NO! THE CARRRR!"

During the earlier part of the movie where Vin Diesel's character (Dom) drove that silver car straight into the waters, we went:

"Okay dude. You escaped. Now what about the car?"

"Are you gonna save the car or what?"

"Oh noooo the car was so prettyyyyyy" *sadface*

LOL. Sorry. We're a pretty materialistic bunch. And a pretty noisy one lah kot, according to this girl sitting besides me, coz she went ahead and told us to 'diam sikit' (quiet down a bit). I mean, honestly I would feel slightly ashamed when someone scolds me inside a theatre, but if its coming from someone who stays silent throughout.

But WTF okay this girl's boyfriend was hands down, THE LOUDEST person inside the whole theatre at the time. He snorts. He snickers. He laughs like a hyena, at parts that are not funny. And she has the guts to tell me to shut up?! Thankfully I'm not the type to bother. Plus I don't want to have to look in their direction coz they were being a YUCKY couple. Euw.

First spontaneous itinerary of that day was lunch in Nirwana, Bangsar. BANANA LEAF RICE!

Once you're done eating banana leaf rice, make sure you fold it TOWARDS you if its good. Or AWAY from you when its unsatisfactory. We asked the servers there. LOL.

So this means it was YUMS.

Then accompany Eja get herself a Blackberry casing at House of BB... or something.

We got frustrated, waiting for her to just GET. INSIDE. THAT. HOUSE.

Meanwhilst waiting for a chance to enter the house slash store, we played with cats;

Awww baby. If I have all the money in the world, I'd buy you and give you my loveeee. *coughs*

Before the movie:

Zue.

Eja.

After the movie:

TOPSHOP, Y U DO THIS TO ME. Plus, I miss you Topshop Oxford Circus.

Around 10 - 11 pm, we ate summore. After that, we complain about our weight.

Buttermilk chicken and kangkung belacan something at Gold Chilli's, SS15. OMG... buttermilk chicken would be great right now.

I don't think I have to go about and tell you how I thought about Fast and Furious 5. But lets just say the movie gave the name justice. It also works the other way around.

Though honestly now, who was a bit freaked by the largeness of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson? Like FFFFFF--- Okay. Too big! Our personal favourite is of course HAN, ever since his character was introduced in Tokyo Drift. Unfortunately, we all know he died. *cries*

I guess if I have to hate the movie, it'd be because I want all the cars that they use in that but I can't. Moreover the Dodge Challenger!

*drools*
And okay am I the only one who thinks the front of this car looks like a face thats saying: "I know you want me baby"? Okay I'm delusional.

Scaled down model of the older version of the Challenger.

So, its set. I'm gonna bug my parents into getting me a Challenger from now on. TEEHEE. Though I have a feeling that I'd be luckier if I were to bug them into getting me a Ford Mustang because I strongly remember Mama and Ayah both asking me:

"Wowo nak Ford Mustang kan?"

Me: NODS HEAD REPEATEDLY all the whilst chanting YES YES YES YES YES.

Mustang.

And they nod. And well... thats it. But my parents are known to be very the generous one towards us... sooo you never know. *hopeful*

Okay so, the third movie of the month was Thor, with Eja.

Eja again. LOL yes.

We went to the Curve to watch the movie in Cineleisure. My first time(!) :-P The place was hella empty after noon, and it reminded me so much of Green Plaza in Alexandria before the Sun sets.

Honestly, we got lost more than a couple of times because we rarely ever visit The Curve, what more hang out there. I'm talking about getting lost inside the compound itself... kalau lost on the way or on the road to memang tak payah cakap la. Dah biasa sangat.

Anyone who has experienced riding with me when I'm driving would tell me two things, without fail:

(1) I drive like a maniac.
(2) I have no sense of direction. AT ALL.

The person who understands this situation most is of course, Eja. Having sat on the passenger more times than I can count. We're always gonna get lost. Its like. A MUST. I'm that incompetent in terms of direction man. Me and my Dad's (he doesn't need it OK, he's a pro like all dads are) Garmin are like *clicks tongue* ; BEST BUDS.

As per usual, before any movie; we'd grab lunch. And yes. This IS after we tell each other that we want to be thin, and me telling her that I'm going to be eating nothing but SALAD yo. All that big talk went straight to the bin once we got into MarchĂ© and went all batak.

I wasn't allowed to take photos, and I happened to be taking a photo of this when the girl working told me I couldn't. Thus, the blurriness.

This is like, a cunningly small bowl of pasta. But neither of us finished ours, because despite its size, its actually quite fulfilling!

So, note: Jangan tamak haloba. I'm not even sure if haloba is a legit word. But YEAH.

This wasn't like, cold enough for me. Should've settled for that chocolate mousse.

The movie was... okay. I mean, the effects are awesome. Chris Hemsworth is a stud. And if I had a boyfriend with such manly voice, I'd probably never allow him to hang up the phone or stop talking. Imma sucker for deep manly voice. Just not that cowboy-ish deep lah. Like that one American Idol contestant this year.

I don't follow AI, so I can't remember his name right now.

But yeah, and I loved, SUPER LOVE actually, Thor and Loki's cape. It is sooo awesome. I feel like making my own for my upcoming assignment.

I think what made the movie so-so for me was because I've heard rave reviews about it from friends. So I think I expected too much out of it, which was why I exit the theatre a tad bit disappointed. But in comparison to Thor, I actually do prefer Loki.

Whatever happens, I'm always more interested in the brunette. Plus Thor was too bulky. Whilst Loki was tall and just nice.

Unlike most people, I ended the day by purchasing;  A printer. For my mom.

AFTER Thor it was: Pirates of the Caribbean; In Stranger Tides. With Eja (again and again, LOL) and Fatin Hilmi. Visit her blog OK, this woman is like, future Super Wife! *imitates trumpet sound*

Late lunch at... somewhere. Hahaha. I honestly don't remember and didn't even mind checking at the time. But the dish I ate was pretty superb.

So pretty can smack her face one.

Okay dah dah, dah bosan tengok muka korang.

Before the movie:

Eja damn cheating okay. Already so tall, but still wears heels without fail!

Um yeah. Awkward pose courtesy of my polaroid camera, which was obstructing my attempts of a normal one.

How very typical of us.

Okay, WHY are all my friends pretty and thin? Someone please explain this!

POTC in my opinion is OKAY lerrr. I mean, I have to say I miss having Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley acting alongside Johnny Depp. But the worse part was that the movie was TOO long. I think, even before it was halfway through the movie, Fatin and I were already glancing at our watches.

Coz her curfew is at nine, and I had to reach home early coz the last two nights before that I returned home at two in the morning and twelve midnight respectively. And YES I was scared that I'd get a scolding from my parents.

Apa jenis anak dara ni balik malam-malam buta. PLUS the acid man some more. So lanjiao one okay.

My favourite part in the movie I think, would have to be the scene with all the mermaids. So pretty, that if I ever did have a boyfriend I'm going to be all paranoid and think OH NO HE'S GONNA COMPARE ME TO ALL THESE MODELS ACTING AS MERMAIDS AND LEAVE ME and collapse or something.

Okay a bit too dramatic, but you get my point. BTW Gemma Ward, you look different with your mouth open.

Photos from the trips with Eja plus one is courtesy of her Blackberry Curve 9300 and either a Canon G12 / S90.

And the LATEST movie I watched was WITHOUT Eja because I got sick of her, LOL. And it was the ever awesome PAUL.

And the people I was with were these two:

Well yes. They ARE wearing the same shirt. Which I probably shouldn't have laughed at so much, because not long after that, my mustard maxi dress got stuck on the escalator. And now it is forever greasy and black, and these guys gave me the idea that I should either cut it or dye it.

Dip dyeing the bottom of that dress is a pretty awesome idea!

And of course they laughed at MY misfortune, just as I did theirs. But in the end, even though I hate to admit it; They got more laughs than I do. Laughing at my dress, making fun of my fatness, et cetera et cetera. And my ID photos....

Like, WTF OK YOU GUYS. But I don't take their jokes to heart. And I actually appreciate people telling me every now and then that I am a fatso. I NEED CONSTANT REMINDERS!

And I in turn make fun of their lankiness. ALL IS FINE.

Nussow on the left, Paca on the right.
=______=

Lastly, Paul was awesomeeee. One; Because I'm biased towards anything Seth Rogen. Two; I enjoy movies with crude and uncensored jokes. Okay duhh one of my favourite movies is 'Pineapple Express'.

All photos taken using a Canon S90.

So I guess thats about it! I actually couldn't wait to END this post... its so tiring! LOL. So... Goodbye you titty-farting fuck faces!

*holds middle finger up in ze airrrrr*
