Halfway Through The First Semester.

Harro! I am glad to say that I'm done with my first semester!

Well, half of it at least. :-)

And I can honestly, and confidently say now that: I've made the right decision. I'm not just literally at home, but I even feel at home. If you get what I'm saying... ya digg?

Back in high school (Form 5, to be more specific), I told my friends that I was considering majoring in Medicine and become a doctor. Not going to lie, that was the first time I've ever considered being a doctor. Before that; Nuh-uh. It was always a tied battle of tug-of-war between enrolling in an architectural course or something to do with journalism.

And my friends would tell me that the image of me, as a doctor, was admittedly, a difficult image to even form in the first place. And its because they can't really imagine me working behind a desk, being all serious.

First ENBE Project: Archisculptures AKA some weird supposedly abstract shizz. Not even going to tell you which one's mine.

But whatever y'know. Back then we were a bit too ambitious (if I may say so), planning to become air-stewardesses after SPM and travel first before landing back on the ground and pursue something serious. LOL. So we don't really spend our time imagining how each other would look like inside office cubicles.

Who does, really?

Fast forward after high school, all the whilst I was studying medicine; I still had people questioning my choice of pursuing medicine. Especially after having witnessed me sketching / drawing.

But now, its the opposite! My friends are always going;

"WHY did you even study medicine again?"

To be honest; I don't know how to explain that myself. But I did, and am glad to have at least experienced being a medical student for more than a year. Not a lot of people can say the same. ;-)

My (rather expectedly) stupid looking ID photo. But I'm not even gonna bother pixelating or shizz coz that iz muh face. And it looks like ZATTT. (Plus, I love posting idiotic pictures of me for you to laugh at). Though do believe that I've had better hair days, a better (less awkward smile) and my bra strap is not usually so apparent. Mama does not approve.

I'm not bragging or whatever, but I've always received compliments on my drawing / sketching / art (if I may embarrassingly say so) 'skills', but only once I've enrolled in this course did I realize that my so-called skills are just MAD mediocre in comparison to a lot of my friends.

These people are really talented, and I'm pretty sure that if I were to show my you guys my sketchbook and theirs side by side, you'd have the immediate reaction to chuck mine into the nearest trash can, for it looks like CRAPPP.

Okay well, not THAT crappy la, I don't want to insult people who can't even draw a straight line or something. But y'know, just a lot less a-mayh-zing.

A CTS (Creative Thinking Skills) assignment where we had to make mind maps. LOL. I find it funny coz we're doing MIND MAPS for an assignment. So relaxed, you jealous naoooo? :-P

My classes so far have been okay. Some days it can be loads of fun, some days it can be totally mundane and dead beat boring, but everyday is always something to look forward to.

I think the only time where I'd be a bit hesitant to head for class is when its at eight in the morning, coz I would have to wake up early to beat the incoming traffic jam heading towards KL, and of course, to search for a parking spot.

But other than that, going to class is pretty much a voluntary act coming from me. And I don't mind it one bit.

My classmates are pretty awesome. I love that we're a combination of loud and quiet. LOL. The thing is, there are about a hundred people in my intake, and we're divided into four tutorial groups for classes other than lectures. And there happens to be this one group, which mainly consists of super loud people.

Our first Food Trip to German Deli. We have more planned food trips for the future. Plan to diet: NO GO. NO GO.

The manic huge wiener which everyone looked at me the whole way through my first bite. Bloody perverted people. LOL. But of course, I make them queasy back in return by my own perverted charms. *blows nails*

Concerning that one other group; I don't hate them or whatever, but I just don't favour them coz they're loud almost ALL throughout a lecture session. Making jokes (with each other and with the lecturer), laughing out loud, and the worse part; Talking back to the lecturers.

I mean, its okay for them to be loud and ostentatious, coz sometimes we need that kind of people to brighten up a dull atmosphere, but what I couldn't stand was their obvious disrespect towards the educators at times.

So yeah, I'm glad to have at the very least, polite classmates to last the first semester.

The itinerary of our first class trip to Taman Tasik Perdana, KL. Mediocre trip, but made into a good experience when you're surrounded by good company;

Lovely friends. Lovely young ones, but I never feel like THAT 20 YEAR OLD I thought I'd be feeling throughout my studies.

I get a lot of assignments, even though its only been about five weeks. But I'm going to go ahead and be forthright when I say that; even though I do complain (everyone does, really) I actually really do enjoy doing them.

EEEEK. Guilty as charged.

I think its because back when I studied medicine, the only learning I get (well, mostly) is from just simply listening and reading, which was why I much preferred hands-on tutorial classes back then. But here; I get to actually DO something.

I get to do research, put my Macbook to good use other than to just watch movies and getting online, have discussions, cutting things, pasting things, etc etc.

Mentors for an onomatopoeia assignment.

My group, shamelessly and very aptly named; Never Say Never, after OF COURSE, The Biebster himself.

So in comparison to sitting at a desk and staring into a textbook in Egypt -- this is much better.

But of course, with everything put aside; the thing that is KEY to having a good time altogether is The Company.

And I'm so lucky to STILL be surrounded by great people; from school days, to my days in Egypt, till now.

And I end this post with Photo Booth photos of a few companions and I. :-)
