A Camera Rant. Again.

I really should stop delaying getting myself a camera. Because:

1) The need for my own camera increases almost every day. EXAMPLE: Yesterday's interview with a Quantity Surveyor for an assignment that almost failed coz I couldn't find a camera to use, had to settle with my sister's and the camera died halfway through the interview. -___-

2) A better camera comes out every month or so. So yes. This is basically me saying goodbye to the Olympus Pen E-PL2.

Asked around and people are telling me to get the Canon G12 / Canon S95 if I'm looking for a compact camera. But it turns out two of my sisters already own those two cameras (in fact my whole family is a Canon user). LOL. So just in case there comes a time where I would desire specificity in the camera I use (which, I doubt) I'd just borrow theirs.

But right now I'm attracted to THIS:

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G3.

Its not a compact, but its not yet a DSLR. And its about the same size as the Pen. I could live with that. But even better; It has a swivel LCD screen, and it has become apparent to me ever since my class trip to Taman Tasik Perdana (where I used my sister's G12 to take photos) that this feature is actually more useful that some would've imagined.

Its great for those moments where you'd like a photo of the sky (or basically anything over your head) and you refuse to bend down and peek at your LCD monitor from below. And for (almost) flawless video maneuvers. 

And it comes in colour. Purrrrrrrrrr. Although they're no match for a Pentax (no camera IS, really):

But mehhh, at least it boasts a colour other than Black and White / Grey.

The unfortunate thing about all this is that the camera is expected to be released June 2011. And well, the same thing happened to me with the Pen, where I wanted it at a time where it was not yet released. And so I waited for it. And once it came out, I didn't feel the need to get it as instantly as I would've thought... until I come across another camera.

So yeah, you'd probably see me ranting about another camera after a month or so. Just giving you a head's up.

**UPDATE**

Parents have given me permission to charge for a camera using le credit card. Now I just need to wait for the moment when this baby comes out and.... POUNCE! Kaching.
