So the thing is: I'm officially twenty years old now! Yayness! Yes, strangely enough, I'm not that disappointed that I'm a year older. Just because I've completely embraced the fact that 'Age is just a number'. And you're as old as you let yourself be, y'know?
Thank you loads to the friends who wished me a Happy Birthday on Facebook. Though I love you guys for it, I sincerely hope that the trend of typing HB (apparently now a famous abbrev. for Happy Birthday) would die. Like, now, if possible.
I appreciate the greetings all the same, but if it was up to me, I wouldn't post something like HB, or SHJ/SHL on my friends' Facebook wall / text message them that on their birthday, coz it looks like I'm just damn lazy. I'd like for my friends to know how much I love them, and how much I appreciate their presence in my life, so I don't want to risk them thinking that I can't even make time to type eleven more letters, but I can type 140 letters on Twitter.
My birthday was good. No parties and all, just because I have no experience in hosting parties... and because birthdays aren't really a big deal to me anymore.
Though it was a nice (expected) surprise from my tutorial group mates when they bought me a blueberry cheesecake in college. I don't have pictures, unfortunately. Coz I now live off my sister's phone AND camera. My HTC's keypad is high-larious. Like, seriously. WTF. I think its time for a spankin' new phone... don't you think Ayah? Mama? :-P
Even though they've already gifted me a bouquet of flowers.
Oh gosh... is it bad that I'm actually laughing at the sight of this bouquet right now? LOL. I find little things like these to be sooo amusing sometimes, for some reason. And this one being the irony at the fact that my parents got me THAT up there.
Which, if you don't know, is like, basically an almost complete package of the things I loathe. First(!) THE BEAR. Do you see it?? Its a TEDDY BEAR. I hate teddy bears. I love stuffed animals, but I sincerely dislike rigid teddy bears (with the exception of the Oxford University one our family got from England coz its an OXFORD UNI BEAR, durhh)... and this one is HOLDING A HEART.
Pfft. I'm laughing as I type this right now. OMG I hate heart holding bears so much, you have no idea. And something to add to this amusement is the abundance of Ferrero Rochers in this bouquet. I love chocolates, so its a bit funny that out of the many chocolates that I enjoy stuffing my face with, this bouquet has the chocolate I hate most.
I've never liked Ferrero Rochers. No one in my family does, actually. So its unfortunate that they're such a staple chocolate in gift-giving, coz we never touch any of it. Whenever I receive a box I would never know how to react. It wouldn't be nice if I went ahead and show my disgust, now is it? Definitely not. So I always end up saying something like, "Ohh errr... ahh, thank you." WTH.
The roses I can stand lah. But I dislike how it reminds me of Mister. Coz (of course) YES he just HAD to be the first person I ever gave roses to! I bought a bouquet of red ones and gave it to him during his graduation. And now whenever I see red roses, he pops out.
Great feeling.... not.
The topic of my birthday put aside until next year, I'm going to boast to you about my attendance to the....
JUSTIN BIEBER CONCERT...
... held in Stadium Merdeka.
I can actually imagine some of you reading this going 'AWWWW' and some going 'I don't give a rat's ass about you attending a concert by an untalented little gay twat'.
Which brings me to the topic of haters (okay, taking a lil detour): GET. A. LIFE. No, I know you have one, but seriously? What is with all the hate? IDGI. I mean, I hate Akon with a vengeance, but I don't troll around on his YouTube videos leaving comments like; "Akon, you suck" / "Thumbs up if you think Akon sucks" or go around typing 'Bodoh punya Akon' on Facebook, or tweeting about how 'Every other artists can sing better than A-f*cking-Kon' and how Malaysia should bring in Dr Dre instead of him coz Dre's so much more talented.
If you hate him, then you hate him. Expressing hate in my opinion is just a waste of energy. You get nothing out of it. Might as well put Bieber's poster in your room and throw darts at it. It works better that way, no?
I'm not saying all this just because I love Justin Bieber. Coz I'm not even that big a fan of him. Its just because any and all haters are just.... hateful. Like, seriously, calm down lah.
Back to the topic of Le Concert, it was great. Honestly speaking, Justin Bieber isn't an awesome singer live, but I give him points for being a great performer in general. He's multi-talented, obviously. THAT you can't deny.
Our homegrown Mizz Nina opened for the show, and I liked the beat she danced to when she got on stage. But other than that, her performance was OKAY lahh. Moreover when the only we know from her is 'What You Waiting For'.
Though I'm not one to judge since the only local artists' concert I've been to was the one in Istana Budaya with Siti Nurhaliza, Faizal Tahir and Aizat; though that was pretty awesome. Siti's voice is FLAWLESS, Faizal Tahir was extremely entertaining and the same goes to Aizat.
*coughs* Back to the Bieber concert.
I have to say that I'm disappointed plus embarrassed by the venue. I much preferred that the organizers did the concert somewhere indoors. Especially since its always raining around here in the evening, and because indoor concerts offer better quality in terms of sound and acoustics.
The first thing that I was most disappointment at that night were the policemen. Hate them now, like, seriously. I even took to brushing off one of the policemen's arm when he told me to go somewhere. IDGAF.
The second thing was... the distance between my seats and the stage. My cousin and I bought tickets that were supposedly, on the side of the stage, because that was basically where I sat when I saw Paramore in Manchester (and the seats were TOO AWESOME, its like, if I jumped, I could easily lunge myself towards Jeremy and his sexy self).
But it turns out that we had this white railing thingy in front of us:
Though what's weird is how I wished we could've gotten our hands on the 400++ MYR priced tickets instead, coz that was unfortunately the only good seats. You're f*cked up if you bought tickets any less than 200++ MYR, coz you'd either be unbelievably far away, or you have a huge white screen in front of you to watch Justin blocking your view of seeing him FOR REALZ.
WTF right? Its like paying for some ridiculously expensive movie ticket.
Malaysia needs a proper concert hall. Like, seriously. My sisters and my cousin who went with me will probably never settle for anything less than FRONT ROW seats / moshpits from now on. I mean, we're probably going to die from not eating for like, a month or two, but it beats seeing an artist the size of a rice grain. (LOL, my sister's friend said that.)
Sisters and muh fat self.
Cousins.
The moment when everyone went really crazy was when the countdown timer went on.
I expected this coz my sister got to catch Bieber live in the UK, and she said, for the whole 15 minutes that the timer was on, people went BANANAS.
Beliebers are crazy. You don't even know.
Around the 10th minute mark, a DJ came onstage and my first thought was: "NO WAY. IS THAT CHRIS BROWN?!?" And then proceeded with screaming and shouting out his name.
It wasn't him. It was just the DJ. I got fooled coz all a sudden Yeah 3x came on. -___-" The DJ was pretty cool, but because the majority of people seated near the stage were parents and their child(ren), he didn't get that big a response.
So he basically just played some jams like, (as I mentioned) Yeah 3x, DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love Again, I Got A Feeling, etc. until everyone started counting down for Justin at the 10th second mark.
And so, the show REALLY starts!
The best pictures are the ones I took of the screen on stage, coz whenever I take a picture of Justin in the flesh, he's barely visible, because of the lights. -___-
The moment when he stopped singing a while, and formed puddles and puddles of GIRLS just by smiling.
The lucky girl who got to receive a bouquet of flowers from Justin on stage that every Belieber will forever be jealous of. The girl herself will probably never sleep a day in her life as well. I mean, Bieber right smacked in front of your FACE, man!
Damn you Selena! LOL. Kidding. I love her, but I hate her latest song 'Who Says'. SO MUCH HATE FOR THAT SONG. She was actually backstage during the concert, coz it was in the papers today, pictures included that she got on a flight with Justin.
I have a weak spot for drummers, and will always do.
A lot of people fell for this, while I was dead certain that the concert hadn't ended. Simply because he didn't even sing 'Baby' yet.
But then the screen started displaying words like:
Do you want more?
*screams*
Are you sure?
*screams*
Make some noise!
*screams louder*
Louder!
*screams even louder*
LOUDER!
*screams to heart's content*
And then he comes out again, and introduces... PREPARE TO JUST DIE A LITTLE;
JOEL *fcking* MADDEN.
I really died a little then, like, SERIOUSLY. I read his tweet before I left the house, and I knew that he was in Asia / Australia, but for him to be THERE.
OMYGOD. I'm hyperventilating all over again.
I love himmmm! I think I got more excited for him than for Bieber last night. Simply because I LOVE THIS MAN. You have NO IDEA how much love I have for Good Charlotte.
I memorize their songs according to its arrangement in their albums and whatnot. Good Charlotte was, like, one of the earliest bands I listen to and Joel was obviously enough, my first band crush. So yes, I did scream out 'I LOVE YOU JOEL' the whole time he was on stage.
Too little time though, which made me sad a bit, coz back when Good Charlotte came to Malaysia in... 2007(?) I couldn't make it coz I was in boarding school. :-( SUPERSAD. I hope someone organizes for them to come again. I need to at least see them live once.
The end.
All in all, it was a great concert. Honestly, every concert can be awesome, if you take part and know how to enjoy yourself, pushing aside all of what it lacks and whatever.
We sang to EVERYTHING. Seriously. Even to the ABC song that Little Justin sang on the home video montage they showed in between breaks. LOL. My sister first looked at me like 'WTF' but then joined in anyway. -____-
Our voices was damn buruk, but we don't care. We can't dance properly to save our lives, but we don't care either. We be singing and dancing all we want! Hahah! *continues to dance pathetically*
Okay so Maroon 5's album has been on REPEAT in my car, so.... *checks account balance and decide whether its worth being broke to see Adam Levine in the flesh.*
I think the answer is pretty much self-explanatory. SOOOO GOING!
Now I'm gonna go think about whether or not I should go catch Switchfoot live, only two days after Maroon 5, coz I wanna sing their songs and be all-layan when they sing the songs used as the OST for 'A Walk to Remember'. But I guess I can get the cheapest tickets for that one, coz I don't have a specific person I want to ogle at.
Hurm. :-/
